Frequently Asked Questions

I am concerned for the privacy of my people

When you view a Street View location on Google Maps you will see that faces (even dog faces), license plates, and other indicators of personal identification are blurred out.  Google has a tool that finds and blurs these identifiers and they use it on all submitted video.

At any time an uploaded file can be removed.  Each file is a segment, or connected path, to some other segment. It takes about a day for it to be processed by Google to be removed.

If the problem can be fixed by blurring out an offending scene, then the edited video can be re-uploaded.

If the problem is that the area has changed and is no longer representative of the segment, then it will be remove with hope that a later video can replace it.

No. The uploaded video is forever associated with the Google login that was used to upload the content.

The owner of the content is shown on the Google Map Street View in the upper left side of the Street View window.  Clicking on that area will take you to the pubic page of that Google account.

If a new video of that segment is uploaded that overlays the original segment then it will be shown. The exception is if the new segment is overlaying a segment owned by Google, the map will almost always show the Google owned content.

If the weather is good, meaning no precipitation and a well lit sky, then the day starts with planning between 8am and 9:30am.  The brighter the sky the better the park looks.

Filming happens between 10am and 3pm.  Outside of these hours the shadows make the park less inviting.

The main setup can be seen about half way down the Street View page.  The camera is loaded on a Tilta car mount system with a shock dampener.  It is mounted high on purpose to provide the perspective of the view from a motorhome or large truck.

The setup for trails can be seen on the Trails page.

After the filming is done, the video goes through post-production and pre-upload processes.  Once it is uploaded, it takes Google about two days to bring is online.

No. I have provided drone content, but I find that there are very few parks that want drone content. I am an excellent drone operator and post-production nerd.

If you are looking for drone content for your website or advertisement, you would be better off with an artistic drone content provider.
